Is Zone Alarm firewall good for Windows XP Media Center?
My free service is being discontinued. I was looking into Zone Alarm, and I was wondering if it's a good replacement for the McAfee Firewall, running Windows XP Media Center. Also, is it likely to interfere with AVG?
Well the free Zone Alarm firewall is better than the default Win XP firewall, but there are better free ones out there.
I use and recommend Comodo Internet Security (with the famous Comodo Firewall), with Avast in place of the included Comodo Antivirus.

But if Comodo isn't to your liking, the Online Armor firewall is very good and is said to be more user-friendly than Comodo.

And you really ought to consider trading that AVG for Avast.
AVG is the worst of the free antiviruses. It has the worst detection rates, and its most glaring fault is that it doesn't have rootkit detection, which is a must today.
