Cooling is provided by two aluminum blocks each overhung fan. Everything is covered with a metal plate curved thick aluminum. The problem is that the movement of air in the hull tends to resonate. The 4850 X2 is at rest, more noisy than any other graphics cards.The 4870 X2 is in the best conditions, for 90 euros more. With a performance gap between the two cards that will ride between 15 and 25%, the very concept of the Sapphire HD 4850 X2 could make sense.

The cooler casing looks pretty nice and heatsinks beneath looks much like the Intel reference cooler. The air is drawn in by the dual fans and exhaust out from the top of the card also i have received from Sapphire a new BIOS that would greatly reduce the noise
